This September, we're happy to introduce a new initiative designed to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes of the research community—the Wiley Research Heroes Prize. This competition is a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of researchers, reviewers, and authors who go above and beyond their usual duties, making a significant impact on the world of research. 

What is the Wiley Research Heroes Prize? 
The Wiley Research Heroes Prize is more than just an award; it's a platform to highlight individuals who ensure that research remains inclusive, innovative, and impactful. These are the people who not only excel in their own work but also inspire and support others, fostering an environment where excellence can thrive. 

The Wiley Research Heroes Prize is not just about recognition—there’s also a tangible reward for the winners. Five winners from around the world will be selected, and each will receive a prize equivalent to $2,000 US Dollars in their local currency. This global competition ensures that outstanding researchers from all regions have the chance to be recognized and rewarded for their contributions. 

Who can be nominated? 
Anyone can nominate a colleague, and just as importantly, anyone can be nominated. The nominees do not need to have previously published with Wiley or be associated with a Wiley journal, making this competition open to all researchers, regardless of their publishing history. Additionally, nominees can be at any career stage—from early-career researchers to experienced professionals. If you know someone whose work and dedication deserves recognition, this is your chance to help them shine. 

We are seeking nominations for individuals across the research spectrum whose dedication and passion make a real difference. Whether it's someone who champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) within their organization, a colleague whose enthusiasm for research drives others to new heights, or an individual who offers support to their peers, we want to hear about them.

Nominating a colleague is simple. Just visit our website, fill out the short nomination form, and share why you believe your nominee deserves to be recognized as a Wiley Research Hero. Be sure to include specific examples of how they’ve gone above and beyond in their role.
